Through

March 20, 2020—

Today’s song by Jason Gray reminds us that we cannot surmount life’s greatest obstacles on our own—the only way through is with Jesus’s strength and assistance: “Through”

Jesus I need You

When the mountain won’t move

I’m going where You go

‘Cause there’s something beautiful

You’re leading me to

Today, in a world overshadowed with death and fear, let us pray to God that He grant us the only strength that will see us through—His boundless love expressed in His Son.

Thanks for listening today.

Here are the lyrics in full:

I see the trouble
Standing before me
Like a mountain
It's like a mountain
My spirit trembles
Under its shadow
I can't escape it
Lord help me face it
I can't keep pretending everything is okay
I can't keep on hiding hoping it goes away
So I'm moving forward even though I'm afraid
Can You hear my heart say, hear my heart say,

I need You to lead me through
There's no getting over it or going around it
When the mountain won't move
I need You to lead me through
Walking before me, behind and beside me
I'm following You
The only way out is if You lead me through

It won't be easy
It won't be painless
But though with your strength
I will get through this
There is no cheating
Or taking shortcuts
It takes a cocoon to make a butterfly

I need You to lead me through
There's no getting over it or going around it
When the mountain won't move
I need You to lead me through
Walking before me, behind and beside me
I'm following You
The only way out is if You lead me through, through
You lead me through, through

Sometimes it feels like the world is shaking
Sometimes it feels like it's never gonna end
But just up ahead I believe that the light
Is breaking through, breaking through
Sometimes it feels like the world is shaking
Sometimes it feels like it's never gonna end
But just up ahead I believe that the light
Is breaking through, Jesus I need You
When the mountain won't move
I'm going where You go
'Cause there's something beautiful
You're leading me to

I need You to lead me through
There's no getting over it or going around it
When the mountain won't move
I need You to lead me through
Walking before me, behind and beside me
I'm following You
The only way out is if You lead me through, through
You lead me through, through

Remind Me You’re Here

February 19, 2020—

Through difficulty and distress, we struggle to see why God would have possibly led us along the path we’re on. Today’s song by Jason Gray acknowledges our confusion when God leads us into adversity, and simply asks that He “Remind Me You’re Here.”

But I’ll trade every question

Just to lay down and rest in Your heart

And I’ll reach for Your hand

Though You led me here into the dark

Today, let us put our trust in God and His plan—knowing that whatever misfortune or darkness we encounter, He stands strong beside us.

Thanks for listening today.

Here are the lyrics in full:

None of my pain
Has ever caught You by surprise
Still it's hard to trust You
When I'm lost in the wondering why
But I'll trade every question
Just to lay down and rest in Your heart
And I'll reach for Your hand
Though You led me here into the dark

And I won't ask You for reasons
'Cause a reason can't wipe away tears
No, I don't need all the answers
Just be here beside me
Father, remind me You're here, here

If it's random or providence
Neither are a comfort to me
Are You cruel if You planned it
Or weak if You allowed it to be?
Half of me is still believing
The other half is angry and confused
Oh, but all of me is desperate
And longing to be held by You

So I won't ask You for reasons
'Cause a reason can't wipe away tears
No, I don't need all the answers
Just be here beside me
Father, remind me You're here, here

Get me out of my mind
And into Your arms
Where hope comes alive
And fear falls apart

I won't ask You for reasons
'Cause a reason can't wipe away tears
No, I don't need all the answers
Just be here beside me
Come be here beside me
And I won't ask You for reasons
'Cause a reason can't wipe away tears
No, I don't need all the answers
Just be here beside me
Father, remind me You're here, here
I just need to know You're here, here
I just need to know that You're here
